This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop standardized processes for patient billing and collections across the region.
• Act as the subject matter expert regarding billing and collections issues.
• Provide support, updates, and guidance to both internal and external customers on billing and collections matters.
• Suggest and implement improvements to billing and collections processes; track and evaluate progress.
• Stay informed on federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines that impact patient billing and collections.
• Create and enforce policies and procedures to ensure timely billing and collections.
• Educate ambulatory surgery centers on business office protocols and procedures.
• Conduct annual evaluations of business office policies and practices.
• Analyze the performance of billing systems.
• Identify, train, and implement preferred billing systems at various centers.
• Support compliance with HIPAA regulations, licensing, and chart audits.
• Aid ASCs in preparing necessary quarterly and annual statistical reports and documentation.
• Supervise claims for adherence to Medicare regulations and guidelines.
• Address any issues arising from periodic chart audits.
• Assist in HIPAA audit processes.
• Assess billing and collection systems for potential acquisitions and provide comprehensive written reports and recommendations.
• Stay vigilant for new business opportunities.
• Execute additional duties as required.
• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare billing.
• Preferred knowledge of operations within ambulatory surgery centers.
• Proficiency in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Competence in understanding, reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, business publications, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
• Skill in writing effective business correspondence.
• Capability to present information clearly and respond to inquiries effectively.
• Proficient in professional interaction with managers, employees, clients, vendors, and the public.
• Ability to identify and define problems, gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and rectify errors.
• Understanding and interpretation of basic financial data.
• Ability to interpret various instructions and manage both abstract and concrete variables.
• Competence in managing multiple tasks simultaneously in an effective and efficient manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• High level of integrity with the capacity to maintain confidentiality.
