This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the strategy, systems, and standards that ensure revenue accuracy at scale for a rapidly growing SaaS company.
• Manage TrueCommerce’s revenue accounting operations, guaranteeing precise, compliant, and scalable revenue recognition in alignment with ASC 606.
• Lead the revenue accounting department, nurture team members' development, and collaborate across Finance, Sales Operations, Billing, Legal, and with external auditors.
• Assist the finance and accounting team in identifying and executing solutions that utilize AI and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue processes.
• Review and endorse revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and closing deliverables.
• Act as the main subject matter expert on revenue accounting policies, intricate contracts, and technical accounting issues.
• Assess new products, pricing models, and contract structures to ensure appropriate accounting treatment.
• Recognize billing tasks within the revenue team and collaborate with the billing team for a smooth transition to the dedicated billing team.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a Revenue Accountant, offering guidance, feedback, and performance management.
• Define clear roles, responsibilities, and expectations to facilitate scalability and accuracy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline is required.
• 8–10+ years of advancing accounting experience, with a focus on revenue accounting leadership in a SaaS context.
• Extensive knowledge of ASC 606 and SaaS revenue models (subscriptions, usage-based, multi-element arrangements).
• Previous experience in people management or strong team leadership.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with NetSuite is required.
• Experience with the Suitebilling module in NetSuite is highly preferred.
• Proficient in advanced Excel skills; experience with reporting and analytics tools is an advantage.
