This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform initial IRB and PRA/OMB evaluations for research-related activities and prepare documentation, summaries, and recommendations for leadership consideration.

• Assess study protocols, evaluation strategies, external research request documents, data collection instruments, recruitment materials, consent language, and associated documents.

• Differentiate between quality improvement, evaluation, and research activities and ensure proper routing for review.

• Evaluate research and evaluation outputs for ethical implications prior to dissemination, sponsor/funder authorization, or organizational assessment.

• Assist in the creation of manuscripts, white papers, reports, and other materials for research and evaluation dissemination.

• Develop project review templates, external research request documentation, drafts for determination letters, decision logs, and other relevant materials.

• Collaborate with research leadership and scientists to pinpoint issues that require escalation.

• Implement research governance standards, review criteria, documentation expectations, and escalation procedures.

• Offer guidance on research ethics review processes, documentation needs, and participant protection protocols.

• Enhance process improvements for ethics screening, protocol review, documentation quality, and research governance workflows.

• Oversee review timelines, follow-up actions, assigned deliverables, and stakeholder inquiries.

• Liaise with internal partners, external researchers, and scientific personnel to acquire missing materials and clarify project specifications.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, health sciences, public policy, or a related discipline is required.

• Three to five years of pertinent experience; a Master's degree or higher may substitute for up to two years of experience.

• Proven experience in supporting research or evaluation activities that involve IRB review, human subjects protections, research ethics, data collection assessment, data access evaluation, or participant protection.

• Familiarity with reviewing protocols, external research request documents, data collection tools, consent materials, project summaries, research outputs, or similar documentation.

• Background or exposure to crisis line operations, crisis intervention, behavioral health services, or comparable direct service contexts.

• Experience in supporting research projects within academic, applied, public health, behavioral health, evaluation, or research laboratory settings.

• Skill in preparing written summaries, recommendations, documentation packets, decision logs, reports, or compliance files.

• Experience with sensitive behavioral health, crisis services, suicide prevention, overdose prevention, public health, or human services data is preferred, where applicable.

• Proficient in software tools including Asana, Microsoft Excel, and Jira.

• Strong understanding of research ethics, human subjects protections, IRB review principles, participant protections, and research compliance documentation.

• Knowledge of 45 CFR 46 and ethical considerations pertinent to behavioral health, crisis services, suicide prevention, overdose prevention, public health, or related research.

• Familiarity with PRA/OMB considerations, data collection evaluations, Federalwide Assurance concepts, and sponsor/funder or organizational review requirements.

• Excellent analytical and writing capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple reviews, deadlines, documentation prerequisites, and stakeholder requests with minimal supervision on a day-to-day basis.

• High level of discretion and sound judgment when dealing with sensitive research, data access, participant protection, and compliance information.

• Capability to evaluate research questions, methodologies, and data requests based on available data, operational context, and crisis line factors.

• Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time.

• Must regularly operate a computer and office productivity machinery.

• Must frequently engage in video calls with stakeholders.
