This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Contribute to and implement Oatly’s North American Public Relations strategy, aimed at promoting key strategic priorities across business, consumer, and industry media.
• Assist Oatly in managing its brand reputation both proactively and reactively with media, consumers, partners, and other external stakeholders.
• Establish, nurture, and enhance important relationships with reporters.
• Engage directly with media and external partners on behalf of the brand.
• Achieve strategic press coverage across print, digital, and broadcast media, including features and product placements.
• Oversee daily interactions with PR agencies, influencer agencies, and other external support.
• Collaborate and coordinate efforts with public relations colleagues on a global scale.
• Serve as the primary communications partner for North American nutrition and sustainability directors.
• Lead Oatly’s mission-driven storytelling initiatives in North America.
• Provide PR assistance for new account launches, partnerships, or other announcements.
• Support in crisis communication scenarios.
• Identify and manage the creation/submission of applications for relevant industry recognitions and awards.
• Develop press materials such as press releases, bios, fact sheets, Q&As, and media interview backgrounders.
• 3-5 years of experience in public relations, external brand communications, or journalism; preferably with knowledge of emerging consumer brands.
• A solid foundation in media relations best practices that fosters comfort and confidence when communicating with media, key stakeholders, and executives.
• A strong desire and capability to manage and cultivate external relationships with reporters, conference organizers, and brand partners, built on trust and transparent communication.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to craft pitches, press releases, and headlines with creativity and originality.
• Background and/or interest in nutrition and sustainability, with a desire to lead the development and execution of strategies related to these fields for the brand.
• Ability to think critically and make informed decisions that align with our strategic goals, alongside the flexibility and openness to adapt to change and new information.
