
Manager, Pharmacy Operations – Midwest

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the financial performance for each pharmacy within your designated region.
• Manage revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, and contribution margin at the site level.
• Regularly review pharmacy financials to identify areas for performance enhancement.
• Collaborate with finance and leadership to monitor performance against budget, forecasts, and growth objectives.
• Create action plans for pharmacies that are underperforming and ensure implementation.
• Supervise daily operational performance across pharmacies in the assigned region.
• Work closely with Pharmacists in Charge to pinpoint and address operational challenges.
• Ensure that each pharmacy operates efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with Pharmacy1st standards.
• Support enhancements in prescription volume, workflow efficiency, inventory management, and patient service.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and enact practical solutions at the site level.
• Conduct regular business review meetings with each Pharmacist in Charge.
• Analyze key metrics such as revenue, scripts, gross margin, labor productivity, inventory, patient experience, and cash flow.
• Set clear performance goals and accountability measures for each location.
• Monitor progress on agreed-upon action items following each site visit.
• Escalate significant issues to Corporate HQ with well-defined recommendations.
• Travel frequently to pharmacies within the designated region.
• Build robust relationships with Pharmacists in Charge, pharmacy technicians, and local teams.
• Act as the operational liaison between Corporate HQ and local pharmacies.
• Ensure that local teams feel supported while upholding high performance standards.
• Assist in translating company priorities into actionable execution at the site level.
• Resolve site-level issues related to staffing, workflow, inventory, payer concerns, patient experience, or vendor performance.
• Identify recurring challenges across pharmacies and devise scalable solutions.
• Share best practices among sites within the region.
• Support the standardization of operational playbooks, reporting rhythms, and performance management practices.
• Collaborate with Corporate HQ across finance, pharmacy operations, clinical services, compliance, HR, and growth.
• Communicate site-level needs, risks, and opportunities back to leadership.
• Assist in the integration of newly acquired pharmacies within the region.
• Ensure that regional execution aligns with Pharmacy1st’s overarching operational and financial objectives.
• Over 5 years of experience in pharmacy operations, healthcare operations, retail operations, or multi-site operations management.
• Direct experience managing multiple locations or a regional operating portfolio.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in owning or managing P&L performance.
• Ability to interpret site-level financials and convert insights into actionable strategies.
• Experience in leading performance reviews, operational routines, and accountability systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with frontline teams and senior leadership.
• Willingness to frequently travel across the assigned region.
• High ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred experience in independent pharmacy, retail pharmacy, healthcare services, or multi-site healthcare operations.
• Preferred experience working directly with Pharmacists in Charge or pharmacy teams.
• Preferred familiarity with prescription volume drivers, pharmacy workflow, inventory management, payer dynamics, and gross margin performance.
• Preferred experience in integrating newly acquired locations into a larger operational framework.
• Preferred experience operating in rural or small-town markets.
