Manager, Pharmacy Operations – East Coast

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the financial outcomes for each pharmacy within the designated region.

• Oversee site-level revenue, gross profit, operating expenses, and contribution margin.

• Regularly assess pharmacy financial statements and pinpoint areas for performance enhancement.

• Collaborate with finance and leadership to monitor performance relative to budget, forecasts, and growth objectives.

• Formulate action plans for pharmacies that are underperforming and ensure implementation.

• Supervise daily operational performance across pharmacies in the assigned area.

• Work closely with Pharmacists in Charge to identify and resolve operational challenges.

• Ensure all pharmacies operate efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with Pharmacy1st standards.

• Promote enhancements in prescription volume, workflow efficiency, inventory management, and patient service.

• Identify operational hindrances and apply effective solutions at the site level.

• Lead regular business review meetings with each Pharmacist in Charge.

• Analyze key metrics, including revenue, scripts, gross margin, labor productivity, inventory, patient experience, and cash flow.

• Set clear performance objectives and accountability for each location.

• Monitor progress against agreed-upon action items following each site visit.

• Escalate significant issues to Corporate HQ with well-defined recommendations.

• Travel frequently to pharmacies within the assigned region.

• Cultivate strong relationships with Pharmacists in Charge, pharmacy technicians, and local teams.

• Act as the liaison between Corporate HQ and local pharmacies.

• Ensure that local teams feel supported while maintaining high-performance expectations.

• Assist in translating company priorities into actionable site-level execution.

• Troubleshoot site-specific issues related to staffing, workflow, inventory, payer concerns, patient experience, or vendor performance.

• Identify recurring challenges across pharmacies and develop scalable solutions.

• Share best practices across sites within the region.

• Support the standardization of operating playbooks, reporting cadences, and performance management routines.

• Collaborate with Corporate HQ across finance, pharmacy operations, clinical services, compliance, HR, and growth.

• Communicate site-level needs, risks, and opportunities back to leadership.

• Assist in the integration of newly acquired pharmacies in the region.

• Ensure regional execution aligns with Pharmacy1st’s overall operating and financial objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in pharmacy operations, healthcare operations, retail operations, or multi-site operations management.

• Direct experience managing multiple locations or a regional operating portfolio.

• Strong financial acumen and experience overseeing or managing P&L performance.

• Capability to interpret site-level financials and convert insights into actionable strategies.

• Experience in leading performance reviews, operating cadences, and accountability systems.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with frontline teams and senior leadership.

• Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region.

• High ownership mentality and capacity to operate in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in independent pharmacy, retail pharmacy, healthcare services, or multi-site healthcare operations (preferred).

• Experience working directly with Pharmacists in Charge or pharmacy teams (preferred).

• Familiarity with prescription volume drivers, pharmacy workflow, inventory management, payer dynamics, and gross margin performance (preferred).

• Experience in integrating newly acquired locations into a larger operating framework (preferred).

• Experience operating in rural or small-town markets (preferred).
