Manager, Pet Services – Grooming Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create, develop, and enhance blended learning curricula that incorporate digital, hands-on, and classroom experiences.

• Act as the subject matter expert in grooming education, collaborating with HR, Learning & Development, and Field Operations.

• Design and improve educational resources and certification materials aimed at partners and guests.

• Manage the Grooming Mentor Program and Salon Academies.

• Ensure consistent execution and deliver a high-quality experience for guests.

• Conduct performance assessments for Grooming Academy Instructors.

• Provide mentorship to field leaders on effective training delivery.

• Collaborate with field leadership on workforce planning, partner onboarding, skill advancement, and post-graduation performance.

• Ensure that education, training, and certification initiatives adhere to safety protocols, animal welfare standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.

• Advise leadership on updates regarding legislation and industry regulations that impact salon operations and grooming compliance.

• Monitor and report on educational metrics across various stores, districts, and territories.

• Leverage data insights and field feedback to enhance training effectiveness, operational uniformity, and partner engagement.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent mix of education and practical experience.

• Strong preference for nationally recognized grooming certifications (e.g., Certified Master Pet Stylist [CMPS], Dermatech Specialist, or Meritus).

• Over 7 years of professional experience in grooming/pet styling.

• Demonstrated leadership experience in multi-unit or enterprise training.

• Proven expertise in instructional design, adult learning principles, and competency-based assessments.

• Experience in leading organizational transformations.

• Proven ability to promote a culture centered on service excellence and safety.

• Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills across various functions.

• Proficient in Learning Management Systems (LMS), training documentation tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.

• Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail/service environment.
