Manager, Payroll Systems – Strategy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance payroll operations at Curana Health.

• Manage payroll systems, integrations, automation projects, governance, tax operations oversight, vendor relations, and process enhancements.

• Collaborate closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, Benefits, IT, and Operations to reinforce controls, streamline processes, enhance accuracy, and facilitate scalable business operations.

• Assist in overseeing payroll tax operations, which include multi-state compliance, handling agency notifications, powers of attorneys (POAs), resolving tax issues, and coordinating with ADP tax services and external vendors.

• Aid in addressing payroll tax discrepancies, responding to agency inquiries, conducting reconciliations, managing compliance escalations, and tackling vendor-related tax concerns.

• Provide support for Workday payroll configuration, testing, enhancements, and continuous system optimization.

• Monitor and assist in resolving payroll integration challenges, deduction discrepancies, vendor file issues, and payroll processing impacts.

• Identify potential areas for automation, workflow enhancements, and reduction of manual payroll processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll operations, payroll systems, HRIS, automations, payroll tax, and benefits deductions in a multi-state environment is required.

• Experience in supporting payroll in a multi-state setting is essential.

• Practical experience with Workday Payroll and ADP is required, encompassing payroll systems, integrations, payroll tax support, and vendor management.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-departmental collaboration skills are necessary.

• Proven experience with payroll systems, data integrations, and process optimization initiatives is required.
