• Deliver product development and technical analysis related to power electronics and power systems control for renewable generation, battery energy storage systems, Synchronous Condensers, STATCOM, and large industrial drives through modeling and performance analysis.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating models using PSS/E, PSLF, PowerFactory, PSCAD, and other modeling software.
• Establish a Modeling and Grid Integration team to support initiatives in the Australia and New Zealand regions.
• Oversee personnel management within the APAC region.
• Provide technical leadership to the Modeling and Grid Integration team in the APAC region.
• Collaborate with the business development and sales teams to enhance GE's market share in Australia and New Zealand for Solar, Storage, Synchronous Condensers, and STATCOM products utilizing our internal capabilities.
• Proven expertise in developing and fine-tuning controllers to meet the performance requirements defined in grid codes.
• Cultivate a technical understanding of the electrical characteristics of GE PCS power electronics products and their integration with electrical grids.
• Assist customers with power systems engineering knowledge, which includes equipment design, specification studies, performance evaluations, commissioning support, troubleshooting, and failure mode analyses.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of transmission and distribution-connected products in line with evolving codes and standards through participation in industry standards groups and by leading innovative power equipment design approaches.
• Communicate effectively with both internal and external customers by producing comprehensive written reports or presentations that outline analyses conducted, solutions generated, and value propositions for customers.
• Support both domestic and international projects across various regions based on market requirements and relay customer needs and values back to GE.
• Actively engage in project teams, ensuring that high-quality deliverables, budget constraints, and on-time project metrics are maintained.
• Foster a collaborative working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service, and innovation are highly valued.
• A Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electric power engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant employment experience is required (candidates with a Master's or PhD and 8 years of experience will also be considered).
• At least 10 years of professional experience in engineering and power system modeling is mandatory.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in developing models using MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, PSSE, PSLF, PowerFactory, Python, C, and C# is required.
