This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct research and analysis on utility avoided cost filings, methodologies, and proceedings to directly influence Renew Home's pricing strategy for residential capacity resources.
• Keep track of state regulatory proceedings, utility dockets, and emerging program designs to discover opportunities and challenges for residential VPP market involvement.
• Convert regulatory and policy insights into actionable, business-relevant implications for internal stakeholders within the Revenue, Sales, and Business Development teams.
• Assist in policy engagement initiatives in designated states by contributing to filings, comment letters, and stakeholder processes aimed at enhancing market access for residential VPPs.
• Establish and nurture working relationships with utility contacts, regulators, and policy stakeholders; represent Renew Home in regular regulatory or stakeholder meetings with support and guidance from senior team members.
• Provide regular updates on developments in VPP-related policy, regulatory frameworks, and utility program design that impact Renew Home's market entry strategy.
• Collaborate across departments to prioritize regulatory engagement in alignment with sales opportunities and the company's OKRs.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• 2–4+ years of experience in energy regulation, energy policy, utility program design, or a related field — OR comparable experience working directly within or alongside utilities on demand-side management, capacity procurement, or DER programs.
• A business-focused mindset with a proven ability to link regulatory and policy changes to company revenue, market strategy, and OKRs.
• Familiarity with energy market structures (e.g., utility procurement, RTO/ISO markets) and the regulatory frameworks that govern them, including knowledge of FERC, state PUCs, and utility avoided cost methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex policy and regulatory information into clear, understandable insights for non-specialist audiences.
• Proven experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally with other teams.
• Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of independently managing deliverables, breaking down tasks into actionable steps, and proactively presenting findings.

• A full-time role with a competitive salary based on experience.
• The base salary for this position ranges from $115k - $145k.
• In addition to the base salary, this role offers eligibility for a target annual bonus of 10% of base salary and participation in long-term incentive programs linked to company growth and performance.
