Manager, Machine Learning Engineering – Underwriting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical vision for your team and assist your engineers in connecting it to critical projects that impact the business.

• Serve as a force-multiplier by defining and championing technical solutions and operational workflows.

• Work collaboratively across teams throughout the product development lifecycle by engaging with product management, design, and analytics to ensure that technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs are clearly understood and effectively managed.

• Foster talent development by offering feedback and guidance, and by exemplifying best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with over 8 years of industry experience, including more than 3 years in an engineering management role.

• Expertise in machine learning, with experience in areas such as tree-based models, transformers, deep learning, and agentic machine learning.

• Strong engineering competencies and the capability to provide hands-on technical leadership while working with our codebase and system architecture.

• You excel in uncertain situations and are adept at navigating from low-level programming concepts to the architecture of large systems to gain an understanding of their functionality.

• This role necessitates either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
