
Manager, Leave of Absence Administration – Center of Expertise

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Oversee the center of expertise for leave of absence management within the HR Service Center.
• Supervise team members, which includes hiring, mentoring, coaching, conducting performance evaluations, managing performance, and administering merit increases.
• Provide counseling to team members along with training resources and guidance.
• Independently manage projects such as the implementation of new tools, enhancement of services, and refinement of policies and processes.
• Set timelines and deliverables, facilitate stakeholder meetings, and provide regular and strategic updates.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for the development, interpretation, and administration of relevant policies and procedures.
• Utilize knowledge of Workday, Neocase, Kronos, and integrated applications, along with understanding their downstream impacts on benefits and compensation.
• Ensure compliance with procedures for colleague interactions and service-level case resolutions.
• Foster collaborative relationships with Total Rewards, Health Ministries, HR Operations, Legal, and vendors.
• Manage team operations, lead cross-functional project teams, offer education and training, and promote department services.
• Analyze case productivity reports and establish as well as monitor team analytics and metrics.
• Provide project and customer service delivery updates to HR and Health Ministry leadership.
• Create or modify processes to meet business requirements and address Health Ministry inquiries concerning scope of work and SLAs.
• Develop sustainable and efficient processes within guaranteed service-level agreements.
• Apply laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.
• Uphold ethical and professional standards in accordance with Trinity Health policies and programs.
• Candidates with experience in National Leave Administration are highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of Human Resources, Payroll, HRIS, Time and Attendance, Benefits administration and implementation, as well as process integration.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively increasing experience in leave of absence administration, occupational health, disability management, or a related field.
• At least two (2) years of previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Advanced knowledge and experience in program and strategy development, trend analysis, vendor management, regulatory compliance, and interpretation and enforcement of policies and procedures.
• Advanced understanding and application of benefits and leave of absence laws and regulations, including FMLA, ADAAA, EEOC, HIPAA, ERISA, DOL, Section 125, and Federal, State, and Local leave laws.
• Strong skills in interpersonal relations, consultation, relationship-building, leadership, communication, negotiation, analysis, problem-solving, judgment, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to facilitate teams, influence outcomes, manage complex relationships, and effectively represent the department.
• Familiarity with Workday, UKG Dimensions, and Case Management systems is preferred.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HRIS and the downstream effects of transactions on benefits, pay, and other areas.
• Proven capability to manage cross-functional HR projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results on schedule.
• Demonstrated skills in continuous improvement and data analytics.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving environment.
• Proven proficiency in the MS Office Suite is required.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat XI STD is preferred.
• Capacity to work in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Must comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
• Ability to set and organize work priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must be able to travel to different Trinity Health locations up to 10%, as needed.
• Hearing ability required for extensive communication via telephone and in-person.
• Manual dexterity necessary for keyboard usage and capability to work ergonomically in an office setting.
• Hourly pay range: $47.23 - $70.81 per hour.
• Remote-based position.
