This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Supervise a team of professionals in continuous improvement engineering and quality.
• Oversee hiring, promotions, coaching, development, and performance management decisions.
• Manage various complex Supply Chain projects.
• Lead the development of strategies, scorecarding, and KPI action plans.
• Evaluate critical site and business needs alongside operational leadership.
• Create and implement continuous improvement strategies across Ryder locations.
• Drive activities aimed at process improvement to enhance safety, quality, delivery, cost, and growth metrics.
• Report on data and actions concerning performance and business objectives.
• Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to employees and managers on Ryder Business System concepts and tools.
• Guide business owners in Engineering, Data Analysis, and Lean methodologies.
• Assist with start-ups, retrofits, and expansions, including pricing inputs, go-live processes, and steady-state certifications.
• Utilize engineering methods, data analysis, Lean tools, and quality standards.
• Enhance distribution and transportation operations through slotting, labor standards, layouts, flow optimization, data profiling, automation, analytics, and resource modeling.
• Facilitate and implement Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen Events, encompassing A3 charters, pre-work, results delivery, and follow-up for sustainment.
• Identify process gaps and lead the Continuous Improvement Team in executing enhancements.
• Monitor and report on transformational activities and project value across customer accounts.
• Direct lean-process assessment, development, implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives across accounts.
• Manage the design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
• Establish and oversee a standardized corrective action system.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
• Supervise Quality Assurance for start-ups and expansions.
• Manage internal audits for regulatory compliance and certification.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management is required.
• Minimum of nine (9) years in Distribution, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Transportation, or Supply Chain Logistics is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Advanced knowledge in Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, Management Accountability Systems, PDCA, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and 5S/Workplace Organization.
• Expert understanding and experience in core engineering and data analysis functions, including slotting, utilization, labor planning, layouts, and metrics.
• Lean Six Sigma certification is required.
• Capability to supervise and develop teams in continuous improvement engineering and quality.
• Ability to manage multiple cross-functional and complex Continuous Improvement projects from inception to sustained outcomes.
• Skills in system and change implementation.
• Knowledge of data visualization and database programming, including Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and DAX, preferred/intermediate.
• Familiarity with warehouse design tools such as AutoCAD, Slot3D, MOST, Manhattan Scale, and labor management systems, preferred/expert.
• Insight into warehouse management operations, data analytics, industrial engineering, warehouse types, layouts/design, and Lean methods.
• Knowledge of material handling and automation solutions, including PIT applications, racking, packaging equipment, conveyor and sortation systems, and AS/RS, preferred/expert.
• Understanding of Dedicated Services and Managed Transportation Networks.
• Knowledge of various equipment types, including dry van, temperature-controlled, flatbed, and specialized equipment.
• Familiarity with transportation, network design, management, and mapping tools, including JDA, Appian, Llamasoft, OTM, and Tableau, preferred/expert.
• Awareness of HRM systems such as Workday and related HR processes.
• Knowledge of team member hiring and onboarding processes.
• Understanding of goal setting and performance management/resolution, preferred/intermediate.
• cPMP, ISO/QMS, APICS, and/or Supply Chain Logistics Certification is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to cultivate professional relationships across various organizational levels.
