This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with the Director of Development and CAO to devise and implement strategies aimed at achieving annual individual giving fundraising goals, ensuring intentional and significant growth in alignment with strategic revenue targets.
• Expand a major gifts program to secure donations ranging from $20k to $50k+, while also obtaining contributions at the $1k to $10k levels, ensuring effective donor cultivation and stewardship.
• Develop personalized "moves management" plans for each prospect to navigate them through their donor journey, from initial identification to gift renewal and long-term stewardship.
• Organize, attend, and perform solicitation visits.
• Act as a lead for major donor fundraising events, working closely with the Director of Development and development staff on event planning, logistics, and enhancing guest experiences.
• Secure appropriate event underwriters and sponsors.
• Ensure that Salesforce CRM accurately logs key donor information and opportunities.
• Compose engaging solicitation letters, timely written updates, and thank you notes.
• Keep precise records of all donor interactions, wealth screening data, and financial forecasts in Salesforce.
• Stay informed about fundraising trends and explore new opportunities to broaden our audience and attract potential donors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, which may include assisting the Director of Development with small grant proposals and outreach to corporate sponsors.
• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; equivalent professional experience may be accepted in place of formal education.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of development/fundraising experience with a demonstrated success in securing five-figure gifts or higher is required.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication and listening skills are mandatory.
• Proficiency in using Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills are necessary.
• A proven capability to build meaningful relationships with individuals of diverse personalities and seniority levels is required.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and present data related to WSP, its students, and alumni in a compelling, funder-friendly manner is essential.
• Must be able to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.
• Experience in small event planning is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Salesforce or another CRM system is required.
• Creative and strategic thinking to proactively generate new ideas is preferred.
• Professional or personal experience with veterans or in the higher education sector is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends as necessary.
• Ability to travel as needed.
