This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee a team of engineers tasked with the design and analysis of both safety and non-safety Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems for NuScale's small modular reactors.
• Manage engineering professionals while providing technical support in alignment with project objectives.
• Generate engineering deliverables that effectively communicate the design and technical elements of I&C systems for the reactor coolant system and nuclear steam supply system.
• Direct system-level and detailed analyses for Module Protection and Plant Protection systems.
• Create specifications and descriptions for I&C components within the plant.
• Support the objectives of Plant Systems Engineering and assist with project work breakdown structures.
• Lead cross-functional projects, applying relevant technical approaches and standards.
• Assess performance, provide guidance, and conduct annual performance evaluations.
• Offer technical and advisory support to projects and offices, along with developing technical statements of work.
• Develop training materials, identify department R&D needs, and propose participation in industry forums.
• Enhance team members’ skills in alignment with their career aspirations and team goals.
• Interface and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Make informed technical decisions regarding analysis methodologies and NRC licensing requirements.
• Remain updated on industry product developments and implement best practices.
• Perform additional duties as required.
• A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in I&C engineering and/or engineering management for complex systems or power plants.
• Prior lead and/or managerial experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage intricate projects that involve multiple phases of work.
• Proficient technical writing skills.
• Demonstrated capability to lead staff from various disciplines and coordinate design interfaces to provide timely design solutions.
• Eligibility to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
• Familiarity with quality assurance regulations, standards, and guidelines such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and NQA-1.
• Ability to clearly understand and communicate through phone interactions, personal communications, and computer-based methods.
• Capacity to learn new job functions and accurately apply new concepts in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel both nationally and locally.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation is preferred.
• Target base salary range of $150,537–$181,683 annually.
• Full base salary range of $134,964–$211,098 annually.
