• Take ownership of global billing operations, ensuring the accurate and timely generation of invoices in accordance with contract terms, pricing models, and booking policies.
• Oversee the complete invoicing lifecycle following Closed Won status, including the setup, validation, and delivery of billing.
• Ensure consistency across Salesforce, contract details, and NetSuite to reduce downstream errors and mitigate revenue impact.
• Act as the main escalation point for intricate billing issues, disputes, and exceptions.
• Lead the collections process, which includes accounts receivable aging, follow-ups, and resolving disputes.
• Monitor and enhance performance against key metrics such as Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), overdue balances, and collection effectiveness.
• Ensure cash application and reconciliation are both timely and accurate.
• Take charge of improving billing and accounts receivable processes to enhance scalability and efficiency.
• Identify and implement automation possibilities across systems and workflows.
• Standardize processes across various regions, entities, and customer segments.
• Collaborate with Deal Desk and Revenue Operations for a smooth transition from deal structuring to billing execution.
• Work closely with Sales and customer stakeholders to address payment delays and escalations.
• Partner with Revenue Accounting to guarantee alignment with revenue recognition standards and audit criteria.
• Ensure billing and accounts receivable processes are compliant with SOX and ready for audits.
• Manage the execution and documentation of critical billing and accounts receivable controls.
• Support external audits, which include providing documentation, conducting walkthroughs, and resolving issues.
• Maintain adherence to global tax, invoicing, and regulatory obligations.
• Lead, mentor, and cultivate a high-performing Global Billing Operations team.
• Set clear goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in billing operations or finance operations, ideally within the SaaS or technology sectors.
• At least 3 years of experience in people management.
• Strong expertise in Order to Cash processes.
• Proficient in using NetSuite and Salesforce.
• Comprehensive understanding of billing processes, invoicing systems, and collections workflows.
• Experience in a high-growth, complex deal environment.
• Familiarity with automation, AI, or process improvement initiatives.
