Manager, Field Technical Service Engineering – Surgical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver extensive service and sales support for all Alcon equipment.

• Foster strong working relationships with customers, field sales, clinical teams, and other regional managers to ensure customer needs are addressed.

• Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing timely resolutions to complex issues.

• Achieve or surpass annual regional targets as per established metrics.

• Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements assigned to the region’s Field Service Engineers.

• Meet financial objectives and manage expenses within budgetary constraints.

• Assist with service contracts and time-material revenue by collaborating closely with the internal sales team.

• Accompany direct reports to evaluate capabilities, offer feedback, and provide coaching.

• Recruit, develop, train, motivate, and lead a team of Field Service Engineers.

• Implement the team’s work objectives, conduct performance reviews, and enforce disciplinary actions in accordance with Alcon guidelines.

• Execute additional duties, monthly reports, and projects as directed by service management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Associate’s +9 yrs; Master’s +2 yrs; PhD +1 yr).

• Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating fluently in English.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

• At least 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience.

• Must possess a current valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record over the past three years.

• Candidates should be able to work independently from a home office 40% of the time and in the field 60%, requiring travel within the assigned region and occasional overnight stays.

• Willingness to travel overnight 50% of the time or as necessary.
