Manager, Data Center Operations

📋 Description

• Design, fit-out, and commission white space across owned and colo sites: PDUs, CDUs, busway, in-row cooling, high-density power.

• Build the smart hands and break-fix teams.

• Manage a multi-site portfolio through various stages: build, commission, ramp, and live operations.

• Ensure vendors and integrators adhere to schedules and specifications: Supermicro, NVIDIA, cooling vendors, cable plant subcontractors, and the general contractor.

• Take ownership of the technical aspects of white space: rack layout, cooling topology, cable plant, power redundancy, and serviceability.

• Collaborate with network engineering on InfiniBand/Interconnects.

• Establish scalable standards, ensuring that site #10 doesn't require your presence on every commissioning call.

⛳️ Requirements

• Deployed over 10MW of data center capacity.

• Held responsibility for architecture and design of interconnected supercomputing/HPC clusters.

• Possess negotiation skills akin to a Turkish bazaar carpet seller.

• Capable of building an organization that accelerates us to a gigawatt.

• Type A personality with an operations background; thrive in chaotic environments where nothing slips through the cracks.

• Comfortable working under ambitious deadlines and managing associated discomfort.

• Well-acquainted with every relevant OEM and colo provider.

• Knowledgeable about the current market landscape: who has capacity, who is overbooked, who may experience delays, and the pricing of power in all key regions.
