Manager, Corporate Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Take the lead in creating financial models alongside business and finance teams.

• Assist in the entire M&A transaction process, encompassing due diligence, valuation, business case development, deal execution, and legal documentation.

• Oversee interactions throughout the transaction process with the internal working group, external advisors, and the seller/target.

• Create and sustain a list of potential acquisition targets by collaborating with business division leaders to grasp strategic growth priorities.

• Aid in drafting Investment Memos for Cengage Group executives and the Board.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, ideally in a relevant field such as business or finance.

• 3-5 years of pertinent experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, private equity, or corporate development/M&A.

• Previous experience in an education, media, or technology firm is beneficial but not mandatory.

• Experience with M&A due diligence and deal execution.

• Proficient in financial and valuation modeling, with a solid understanding of financial statements.

• Capable of strategic and analytical thinking, with strong project management and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capacity to build rapport and credibility across the organization while conveying analysis and proposals clearly.

• A self-motivated individual with a keen eye for detail and a focus on results, who is also highly collaborative and adept at leading cross-functional teams.
