Manager – Commercial Processes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• **What You´ll Do**

• - **Process Documentation & Governance**

• - Identify, document, and sustain all comprehensive commercial processes, including opportunity qualification, bid/no-bid decisions, proposal development, pricing approvals, and more.

• - Create and maintain a centralized Commercial Process Handbook that acts as the definitive reference for all commercial workflows.

• - Establish and enforce stage-gate criteria, approval authorities, and escalation paths in accordance with corporate governance and compliance requirements within the defense sector.

• - **Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement**

• - Evaluate existing commercial processes to pinpoint bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risk areas; design and implement enhancements that minimize cycle times and boost win rates.

• - Introduce and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the health of commercial processes, such as bid turnaround time, approval cycle duration, and proposal quality scores.

• - Compare against best practices in the defense industry.

• - **Compliance & Enforcement**

• - Conduct regular process audits and compliance evaluations; report findings to the Head of Commercial Strategy and suggest corrective actions.

• - Provide tracking and progress updates on identified commercial Enterprise risks.

• - Act as the gatekeeper during crucial processes, ensuring that mandatory steps are completed before moving forward.

• - **Tools, Systems & Enablement**

• - Oversee the configuration and ongoing enhancement of CRM and commercial management tools to align with approved processes.

• - Create templates, checklists, and develop decision-support tools that facilitate daily commercial operations.

• - Design and implement training programs and onboarding materials to ensure all commercial team members understand and adhere to established processes.

• - **Cross-Functional Collaboration**

• - Collaborate with departments such as Manufacturing, Legal, and Finance to ensure alignment of commercial processes with contractual, financial, and delivery workflows.

• - Support commercial teams during significant pursuits by ensuring process discipline is upheld under time constraints.

• - Act as the main point of contact for internal and external audits related to commercial operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• **What You’ll Need**

• - Master’s degree in Business Administration, Process Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field;

• - 8-10 years of professional experience in commercial operations, business process management, or project management. Experience in the defense or aerospace sector is an advantage.

• - Demonstrated history of designing, implementing, and enforcing structured commercial or operational processes in a fast-paced, complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

• - Practical experience with CRM platforms and process mapping/BPM tools.

• - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven approach to process enhancement.

• - Proficiency in English.
