This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Oversee the entire acquisition process within the designated territory, focusing on high-value Middle Market clients through strategic and consultative selling.
• Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with CEOs, CFOs, and financial leaders.
• Identify, cultivate, and convert new business opportunities leveraging market intelligence, networks, and industry insights.
• Maintain a robust presence in the market with 25–50% travel.
• Manage a high-value sales pipeline with precise forecasting, strong conversion rates, and consistent achievement of quotas.
• Utilize data, analytics, and financial insights to prioritize opportunities and enhance resource allocation.
• Collaborate with Risk, Underwriting, Pricing, and Product teams to deliver customized, profitable solutions.
• Engage in discovery conversations to reveal client challenges and opportunities.
• Design American Express solutions that encompass working capital optimization and expense management.
• Provide thought leadership on market trends, payment innovations, and financial transformations.
• Lead negotiations on complex deals and guide executive stakeholders through strategic and financial considerations.
• Finalize deals and transition accounts to the Field Account Development team.
• Adhere to the American Express Code of Conduct, Sales Practice standards, and compliance requirements.
• A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated success in complex B2B, commercial, or financial sales environments.
• A consistent track record of top-quartile performance and surpassing ambitious sales targets.
• Expertise in consultative, multi-stakeholder selling and influencing C-suite decision-makers.
• Proven capability to close large, impactful deals.
• Experience in solution-oriented sales across payments, financial services, SaaS, or related sectors.
• Strong financial acumen, with the ability to articulate ROI, profitability, and business impact.
• Proficient in interpreting client financial statements, analyzing balance sheets, and identifying working capital needs.
• Exceptional ability to translate complex solutions into compelling, actionable client value.
• Strong analytical thinking and results-oriented execution.
• Capacity to uphold high standards in a regulated environment.
• Ability to work independently, think creatively, and drive measurable business outcomes.
• Adaptability in rapidly changing environments.
• Proficiency in CRM management, pipeline forecasting, and disciplined sales execution.
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Must be able to work virtually and reside in and travel within the Seattle/Tacoma/Olympia, WA area.
