This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Offer strategic and technical guidance to health ministries regarding AI governance, workforce capabilities, infrastructure, and digital/data systems.
• Conduct and compile research on trends, tools, and emerging practices related to AI in healthcare.
• Assist the AI Commons for Global Health through stakeholder engagement and operational management.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with counterparts in health ministries, technology firms, funding organizations, and global health collaborators.
• Create tools, frameworks, and resources for assessing AI readiness and implementation.
• Develop innovative solutions to unique challenges in a rapidly changing technical and policy environment.
• Aid in the preparation of work plans, budgets, and reporting documents for AI-focused initiatives.
• Draft presentations, briefs, and materials that effectively communicate complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with CHAI country teams and global teams to ensure alignment and share knowledge.
• Represent CHAI at gatherings, working groups, and meetings related to AI in health.
• Assist in fundraising efforts by writing proposals and updating donors.
• Provide mentorship and support to team members as necessary.
• Engage in additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Travel extensively to program countries and partner meetings.
• A Bachelor's degree is required.
• A Master's degree in public health, public policy, data science, computer science, or a related discipline is preferred.
• 4–8 years of pertinent professional experience.
• Proven interest or experience in AI, digital health, and/or strengthening health systems.
• Strong research capabilities and the ability to distill complex information into actionable insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management abilities, especially with government officials, partners, and funders.
• Creative problem-solving skills in uncertain, rapidly changing environments.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficient in preparing presentations and technical documentation for diverse audiences.
• Strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and capacity to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Experience working in CHAI program countries and with government stakeholders is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with utilizing AI workflows for research and resource development is preferred.
• Additional language skills pertinent to CHAI country programs are advantageous.
• Must have work authorization for the relevant country.
