Manager, Actuarial Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversees the daily functions of the Actuarial Services Department.

• Takes the lead in creating and modeling the effects of strategic initiatives, product development, pricing, regulatory changes, legislation, rate filings, trend analysis, revenue optimization, forecasting, reserving, data management, and analytics across all product lines.

• Calculates reserves for claims and premium deficiencies while collaborating with auditors to reach mutually agreeable conclusions.

• Manages product pricing, which includes developing robust pricing models and tools, collaborating with internal teams to create effective products and strategies, and liaising with regulatory bodies for product and pricing approvals.

• Directs forecasting, analytics, underwriting, and performance monitoring functions.

• Acts as the subject matter expert on regulatory reforms and legislative changes, assessing the impact of these changes and identifying potential risks for successful implementation.

• Aids strategic initiatives through idea generation, market research, financial modeling, business plan development, and execution.

• Enhances data management by guiding and overseeing IT teams on effective data aggregation, partitioning, and extraction rules to satisfy analytic and reporting requirements.

• Works collaboratively with various departments to ensure operations are accurate and timely.

• Provides mentorship and support to emerging actuarial talent.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field of Study (Required).

• Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science (Preferred).

• At least 2 years of experience managing people, processes, or projects (Required).

• A minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience (Required).
