This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Supervise operations related to insurance accounts receivable and accounts payable.
• Manage denial processes, follow up on claims, resolve credit balances, handle patient and insurance refunds, provide patient billing support, and oversee customer service functions.
• Direct an internal team focused on insurance follow-up and escalated patient billing, consisting of approximately 10–15 direct reports.
• Collaborate with an external Revenue Cycle customer service provider.
• Track and enhance accounts receivable aging, collections, denial resolutions, credit balance management, refund timeliness, and the performance of vendor service levels.
• Work together with clinical, operational, compliance, contracting, and finance departments.
• Maximize reimbursement and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
• Enhance revenue cycle processes to support the organization's revenue objectives.
• Make decisions regarding resource allocation, strategies, and tactical operations for departmental projects and initiatives.
• Report directly to the Associate Director of Revenue Cycle Management.
• A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, finance, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in the healthcare revenue cycle.
• At least 2 years of management experience.
• Experience in managing revenue cycle, accounts receivable, or patient financial services teams.
• Comprehensive understanding of healthcare revenue cycle operations, including claims management, denial handling, accounts receivable follow-up, and patient billing.
• Demonstrated ability to enhance collections performance and minimize aging accounts receivable.
• Leadership experience in developing high-performing teams and managing vendor relationships.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends, resolve issues, and implement process enhancements.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills geared towards enhancing patient and provider experiences.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and Managed Care reimbursement processes.
• Preferred: CPB, CPC, CCS, CRCR, or similar healthcare revenue cycle certification.
• Preferred: Experience supporting primary care, specialty care, or multi-site physician practices.
• Preferred: Experience managing outsourced revenue cycle vendors or call center operations.
• Preferred: Familiarity with Athenahealth or similar practice management and revenue cycle systems.
• Access to home internet with a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps.
