This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver mission support services focused on policy analysis and recommendations regarding the development and implementation of OCR’s mission.
• Formulate new policies and evaluate existing ones that align with OCR’s mission objectives.
• Provide guidance on policy, administrative regulations, compliance, and enforcement strategies associated with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Suggest enhancements to the quality and efficiency of HIPAA and cybersecurity projects, activities, and mission objectives.
• Collaborate with OCR leadership to assess program efficiencies, identify redundancies, and propose improvements or consolidation of workstreams.
• Offer policy and regulatory analysis to the OCR Director and Deputy Directors.
• Assist in the execution of policies and procedures under OCR’s compliance and enforcement authorities.
• Conduct research and analysis on cases, perform investigations, and carry out compliance reviews.
• Support collaborative efforts within and between agencies to develop, coordinate, and implement mission-related activities.
• Engage with government personnel, federal and state agencies, regulated entities, complainants, covered entities, business associates, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders.
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Sciences, or a related field.
• A minimum of three years of specialized cybersecurity experience comparable to GS-13/14 level within the Federal Government.
• In-depth knowledge of HIPAA policies.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance level II.
• Familiarity with the public health or healthcare system/field.
• Proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented, high-visibility, fast-paced environment.
• Adaptability in managing competing and emerging priorities.
• Strong analytical, communication, and writing skills.
• An appropriate combination of education and experience may qualify; experience must meet or exceed four years of specialized experience at the GS-13/14 level.
