• Forecast and monitor cash flow effectively.
• Conduct weekly reconciliations of inventory clearing accounts to ensure accurate postings.
• Assist in preparing the first draft of Monthly Management Accounts for review by the Senior Accountant.
• Identify and explain areas of variance between actual and budgeted figures.
• Generate weekly profitability reports for each customer.
• Provide in-depth financial analysis upon request to aid crucial business decisions.
• Support the accounting functions for UK and European operating businesses and entities.
• Ensure accuracy in processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and staff expenses.
• Collaborate with Operations and Purchasing to facilitate efficient and precise transaction processing in accordance with Group policies.
• Reconcile various balance sheet accounts, including rebates, fixed assets, and inventory.
• Manage the Fixed Asset Register, logging all additions and disposals, and generate depreciation journals monthly.
• Maintain up-to-date Financial Operating Procedures.
• Provide information and analysis to support Financial Audits.
• Oversee the integration and maintenance of NetSuite and other financial software.
• Drive improvements and innovations in financial processes.
• Perform additional ad hoc duties as required, ensuring the following KPIs are met: • Timely provision of accurately completed Monthly Management Accounts by the 7th of each month. • Complete entity balance sheet account reconciliations accurately and promptly. • Produce customer profitability reports with precision.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a broad finance functional role.
• Proficient in conducting balance sheet reconciliations, identifying variances, and tracking process improvements.
• Experience with commercial finance or financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
• Comfortable using an ERP system (NetSuite preferred but not mandatory), as well as Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capable of prioritizing tasks and delegating when appropriate.
• Skilled in identifying, analyzing, and developing effective solutions to problems.
• Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality in all dealings.
• Competent in building interpersonal relationships at all levels within the company, able to influence colleagues working remotely to maintain strong financial processes.
• Excellent communication skills in written, verbal, and interpersonal formats, with the ability to adjust communication styles for diverse audiences.
• Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
