Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Accurately process daily Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions in a timely manner.

• Prepare and record journal entries with appropriate documentation and meticulous attention to detail.

• Conduct bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial records remain accurate and organized.

• Assist in month-end closing procedures by completing designated schedules, entries, and follow-ups.

• Identify, investigate, and help rectify discrepancies in transactions, balances, and related documentation.

• Provide support to the U.S. finance team with financial reporting and routine accounting analysis.

• Clearly communicate in English with U.S. stakeholders and in Spanish with Mexican counterparts.

• Keep well-organized records and adhere to established accounting protocols within the client's remote desktop environment.

• Proactively highlight issues, missing information, or gaps in processes to prevent delays in accounting timelines.

• Engage in cross-training on related accounting responsibilities to support a streamlined finance team and minimize bottlenecks.

⛳️ Requirements

• **Must-Have:**

• 2 to 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a solid foundation in transactional accounting.

• Professional working proficiency in both Spanish and English.

• Practical experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with month-end closing tasks and the capability to complete assigned duties independently.

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP principles.

• Intermediate Excel skills, including proficiency with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, and reconciliation tasks.

• **Nice to Have:**

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP or a comparable desktop ERP system.

• Previous experience assisting a U.S.-based finance or accounting team.

• A dual-monitor home office setup.

• Experience utilizing remote desktop software.

• Long-term contractor experience with a proven track record of reliability and low turnover.
