• Oversee a portfolio consisting of around 100 major donors and family foundations, aiming to achieve annual revenue objectives exceeding $5M at the program's peak.
• Conduct 40-50 strategic meetings with donors each year to enhance relationships and guide prospects through the giving cycle.
• Create tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for donors at leadership giving levels.
• Collaborate with organizational leadership to facilitate high-level donor engagement and solicitations.
• Design and execute regional strategies to expand M4BL’s major gifts program, including hosting 2-3 in-person regional events annually in key markets.
• Secure leadership contributions for priority campaigns and provide strategic insights on efforts to upgrade donor contributions.
• Develop and implement targeted initiatives to increase donor-advised fund (DAF) contributions and enhance DAF stewardship.
• Write grant proposals and reports for institutional donors and funding collaboratives that support movement infrastructure.
• Lead training sessions for M4BL staff and partners on best practices in major gifts fundraising.
• Cultivate relationships with donor networks, including Resource Generation and Solidaire, to identify and engage new supporters.
• Implement and oversee a moves management system in EveryAction to monitor fundraising progress and donor engagement.
• Utilize wealth analytics tools to discover new funding avenues and shape outreach strategies.
• Create compelling donor engagement materials, such as proposals, impact reports, and updates that link contributions to M4BL’s movement efforts.
• Organize virtual and in-person events to enhance donor understanding of M4BL’s initiatives and cultivate long-term commitment to the movement.
• Ensure donors are consistently updated on movement progress, challenges, and opportunities through direct engagement and tailored communications.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of professional fundraising experience, with a proven record of securing major and principal-level gifts from high-net-worth individuals, foundations, and institutional funders.
• Proven ability to manage a major gifts portfolio and successfully navigate donors through the entire cultivation and solicitation cycle.
• Experience in fostering and developing a culture of philanthropy within an organization.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the capacity to create compelling proposals and donor-facing materials, and to present confidently to high-level stakeholders.
• Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and fundraising CRMs; experience with EveryAction and Windfall is highly preferred.
