This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.
• Create and take ownership of high-quality research on macroeconomic, cryptocurrency, and Binance-related topics, generating innovative ideas, frameworks, and methodologies that link the macroeconomic landscape and traditional finance to the cryptocurrency ecosystem.
• Develop robust models and clear visual representations using market data, public on-chain information, and various other sources to aid the team's research and enhance decision-making throughout the organization.
• Serve as a proactive thought leader by staying ahead of market trends, identifying risks and opportunities, forming original insights early, and contributing to discussions on key themes relevant to the market and Binance, including macroeconomic context, market structure, tokenization, DeFi, and institutional adoption.
• Collaborate with various teams within the organization to monitor and synchronize narratives, ensuring that market developments integrate into the team’s research and that the team’s findings contribute to Binance's overarching narrative and objectives.
• Establish and grow the team’s external research network while sharing valuable insights across the industry, enhancing the dissemination and impact of research content, and bolstering its strategic position.
• Over 3 years of experience in cryptocurrency research or a closely related field, or over 5 years in consulting, venture capital, or traditional finance sectors, such as investment banking, asset management, or capital markets.
• Comprehensive understanding of macroeconomic factors and markets, along with insight into how the macroeconomic and traditional finance environments relate to the cryptocurrency space.
• Proven track record of original thought: developing unique perspectives, constructing new frameworks, and influencing the narratives that drive the agenda.
• Capability to source, clean, and organize large datasets from diverse origins, including market data providers and proprietary internal sources, to create publication-ready analyses.
• Expertise in data processing and analytical tools for financial modeling; proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and visualization, with familiarity in SQL or data querying being an advantage.
• Self-motivated and collaborative, demonstrating a strong work ethic and the ability to excel in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline is advantageous; a CFA designation is also a plus.
