This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Evaluate candidate architectures and modeling techniques based on operational accuracy, latency, and resource usage.
• Create synthetic data generation tools and augmentation pipelines.
• Organize and curate data obtained from field operations.
• Train and enhance speech recognition and natural language models tailored for specialized, noisy, and degraded environments.
• Optimize model latency and memory consumption using performance benchmarks.
• Transform research-grade code into efficient production inference runtimes.
• Develop evaluations to assess the effectiveness of operator commands in real-world scenarios.
• Convert field failures into test cases, training data, and solutions.
• Enhance model training, tracking, evaluation, and deployment workflows.
• Collaborate with the engineering team through code reviews, technical discussions, and team Q&A sessions.
• Extensive hands-on experience in training, optimizing, and deploying machine learning models within production environments.
• In-depth, practical experience in speech recognition and natural language understanding, including model adaptation for specialized domains.
• Strong proficiency in Python and contemporary deep learning frameworks, including custom training loops, data pipelines, and evaluation tools.
• Proven track record of significantly improving model speed or size, validated by benchmarks.
• Practical experience transitioning models from frameworks and research code to an efficient, deployable inference pathway.
• A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computational Linguistics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent proof of capability.
• Valid authorization to work in the U.S.
• Ability to work independently across time zones with clear written communication skills.
