Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Build, maintain, and enhance machine learning systems for production that facilitate search, recommendations, personalization, computer vision, and predictive modeling.

• Contribute to enhancements in search and discovery, encompassing ranking, filtering, relevance, exact match, boolean logic, and LLM-driven improvements.

• Develop and integrate machine learning models aimed at enhancing recommendation quality, search precision, behavioral analytics, and tailored user experiences.

• Write clean, reliable, and maintainable code for ML pipelines, model development, experimentation, and production processes.

• Work with extensive datasets to train, assess, monitor, and refine ML systems.

• Collaborate with Data Science, Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to grasp requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver ML solutions that yield measurable product and business outcomes.

• Engage in technical design discussions concerning ML systems, focusing on model architecture, data pipelines, evaluation methods, deployment strategies, monitoring, and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 3+ years of experience in building, deploying, or maintaining machine learning systems in production settings.

• Experience in developing ML models or systems at scale in domains such as search, recommender systems, personalization, computer vision, predictive modeling, or user-facing ranking systems.

• Experience with consumer-facing products where machine learning significantly influences user discovery, engagement, retention, or personalization.

• Experience with global-scale systems, high-traffic environments, or large datasets of user behavior.

• Exceptional Python programming skills.

• Familiarity with popular machine learning libraries, frameworks, and tools such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, XGBoost, pandas, NumPy, or similar technologies.

• Capability to reason through ML system design, including data quality, model evaluation, performance trade-offs, scalability, reliability, and monitoring.

• Strong communication abilities and experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and other cross-functional teams to deliver practical ML solutions for complex product systems.

• Bonus points: Experience with search systems, ranking systems, recommendation engines, embeddings, or information retrieval.
