Maay Maay to English VRI/OPI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Receive calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the healthcare and medical industry.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no addition, omission, or substitution.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough interpretation of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Regularly communicate and report to your team leader.

• Follow the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Maay Maay".

• Minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a reputable interpretation company.

• Solid understanding of medical terminology.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is advantageous.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are beneficial (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
