This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
β’ Assist the Director of M&A in formulating the Portfolio's M&A strategy.
β’ Carry out M&A transactions, which include analyzing target companies, focusing on financial and operational performance, industry trends, and growth factors.
β’ Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models and valuation assessments.
β’ Recognize risks and opportunities, ensuring they are evaluated and included in business cases.
β’ Prepare and deliver indicative offers and letters of intent (LOIs).
β’ Aid in the negotiation of purchase agreements.
β’ Manage cross-functional internal and external teams to facilitate the due diligence process.
β’ Supervise the preparation of investment committee documentation.
β’ Assist in final negotiations, legal documentation, and the closing of transactions.
β’ Proactively identify, research, qualify, and connect with potential acquisition targets that align with our strategic objectives.
β’ Foster and maintain relationships with company owners, advisors, and intermediaries.
β’ Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of experience in M&A deal execution, including investment banking, corporate development, private equity, or similar fields.
β’ Strong skills in relationship management and business development, particularly with small to mid-sized, owner-operated companies.
β’ Experience in the software or technology industry is a valuable asset.
β’ Excellent attention to detail, with the capability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
β’ Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
β’ Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling, coupled with a solid grasp of accounting principles.
β’ Willingness to work flexible hours across different time zones and travel as necessary.
β’ A collaborative, team-oriented approach paired with the confidence and professionalism to engage with senior executives, business owners, bankers, lawyers, and advisors.
