This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Carolina.
• Aids the physician in evaluating patient needs through data collection.
• Provides direct patient care, including triage, assessments, procedures, treatments, patient education, as well as discharge and follow-up instructions.
• Prepares patients for examination by the physician.
• Compiles the initial database by systematically gathering relevant information.
• Documents the database in the patient's medical record as appropriate.
• Conducts specialized tests such as audiometry, electrocardiography, inhalation treatments, and selected laboratory procedures as required in the practice.
• Prepares medications and administers injections as prescribed by the physician.
• Assists the physician with various treatments and procedures as necessary.
• Delivers patient education tailored to specific circumstances.
• Organizes testing and referral appointments for patients following physician directives.
• Engages with patients via telephone calls to address concerns or direct inquiries to the physician.
• Conducts follow-up calls to patients as needed.
• Cleans and organizes examination rooms between patients in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Ensures all necessary instruments are sanitized and available in examination rooms.
• Sets up and maintains equipment, promptly notifying the physician office manager or relevant personnel of any malfunctions.
• Manages medical supply inventory, verifies expiration dates on medications and vaccines, and disposes of expired medications appropriately.
• Develops and keeps a comprehensive understanding of all equipment essential for performing duties.
• Exhibits skills and abilities necessary in a diverse environment, in addition to those related to nursing.
• Fosters a learning-friendly atmosphere by encouraging the formal and informal continuing education of co-workers.
• Assists in the overall review of patient care quality by conducting chart audits and necessary data collection.
• Actively contributes to departmental quality assurance projects and promotes the practice's mission and philosophy.
• Enhances the practice’s reputation by presenting a positive image.
• Shows readiness to undertake the responsibilities of other department staff when workload demands.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Basic Life Support certification is required to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient computer skills are necessary.
