This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Perform on-site loss control assessments and virtual consultations to analyze operations, pinpoint hazards, and propose solutions that enhance safety and mitigate risk.
• Work collaboratively with insured clients, underwriting teams, claims personnel, and agents to offer expert advice on potential sources of loss.
• Provide training sessions and create comprehensive reports to support underwriting decisions.
• Complete all necessary documentation and reports related to account visits.
• Visit client facilities to gain insights into operations, hazards/exposures, and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs.
• Assess compliance and evaluate safety programs according to OSHA, NFPA, DOT, ANSI, and other relevant codes.
• Conduct agency visits to advocate for specific loss control services.
• Offer loss control consulting services for documented accounts.
• Perform basic Industrial Hygiene and Health assessments, including noise and ergonomic evaluations.
• Attend branch large loss meetings and other gatherings that require expertise in loss control.
• Develop, present, and discuss recommendations with clients to enhance their conditions.
• A bachelor's degree with a major in safety, science, or engineering from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Continuing education credentials such as Associate in Loss Control Management (ALCM) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM), along with certifications like ASP, CSP, CIH, or OHST are preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in property/casualty loss control, conducting loss control surveys and engaging in some loss control consulting for documented accounts is required.
• A proficient level of technical and professional expertise in the loss control/safety domain for all types of surveys across all commercial lines and programs.
• Comprehensive understanding of operational practices for industrial, construction, institutional, commercial, educational, and habitational settings.
• Solid grasp of commercial insurance coverages.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Basic skills in training and presentation.
• Effective communication abilities, both verbal and written.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Adept with PC skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite.
