This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the interim leader for locations that need additional managerial assistance, including newly established yards or during transitional periods.
• Create and execute operational plans customized to meet specific customer needs at each site.
• Manage fleet operations, team development, training, and compliance across various locations.
• Build and maintain robust relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
• Leverage Zūm’s IT infrastructure to track KPIs, ensuring that performance targets are consistently surpassed.
• Promote a culture of behavioral safety for all employees.
• Hold full P&L responsibility for designated locations, ensuring both financial and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with HR, Recruiting, and Safety teams to meet staffing and compliance requirements.
• Ensure readiness and compliance for fleet and facility operations, adhering to state, federal, and contractual obligations.
• Act as a liaison between union representatives and operations teams when applicable.
• Work alongside payroll, finance, and safety departments to enhance operations and resolve discrepancies.
• Strategically plan and execute hiring needs in partnership with HR and Recruiting teams.
• Ensure fleet readiness by working closely with Shop Managers and adhering to relevant regulations.
• Supervise daily operations, incident reporting, and resolution processes.
• Monitor and maintain clean, organized, and efficient facilities across all sites.
• Assist with special projects, including field trip logistics and charter processes.
• Achieve consistent results in KPI performance and operational efficiency across multiple locations.
• Over 7 years of experience in operational leadership, ideally within the transportation or logistics sector.
• A proven history of success in safety performance and team development.
• Demonstrated capability to manage operations in both unionized and non-unionized settings.
• Strong project management skills with experience in dynamic, fast-paced roles.
• Outstanding stakeholder relationship management and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to make independent decisions and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Knowledge of P&L management and familiarity with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
