Localization Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.

📋 Description

• Oversee localization projects based on the workload and team requirements, which includes:

• Text localization

• Audio localization

• Localization QA/testing

• Define project scope, timelines, workflows, risks, and resource needs.

• Estimate and plan projects from initiation to completion, including timelines and contingency measures.

• Collaborate with the Lead PM, Senior Production Managers, and the global team to ensure that project-specific workflows and technical procedures are well-documented and consistently updated.

• Lead the project planning process and conduct "kick-off" meetings along with ongoing project-related discussions as necessary.

• Coordinate multilingual production pipelines among internal teams and external vendors.

• Work closely with the Engage Team, the Lead PM, and clients to comprehend the scope and needs of each project.

• Advise clients on best practices and finalize project processes and timelines.

• Monitor and manage project workflows (including pre-and post-production plans, postmortems, resource allocation, QA plans, risk mitigation strategies, CAPAs, etc.) and collaborate with teams responsible for various areas of expertise.

• Collaborate with the Global Resource Management Team to align on project resourcing to ensure adherence to project guidelines, client expectations, company procedures, and target project margins.

• Supervise the project schedule, ensuring all parties deliver according to the established timeline and company standards.

• Continuously manage and adapt the work plan and required resources in consultation with clients and the global team.

• Work with company stakeholders to determine workflows and optimal processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

• Maintain daily communication with clients on project progress, addressing issues, changes in specifications, deadlines, or any other related matters.

• Engage with external vendors and internal resources involved in projects, fostering relationships that go beyond a simple supplier-client dynamic to involve vendor team members in the creative localization process.

• Maintain ongoing communication with other PMs across accounts, cultivating strong working relationships with all global team members.

• Make independent decisions regarding work methodologies for projects while liaising with global teams and the Lead PM, Senior Production Managers, adhering to established standards and procedures set by the company and clients.

• Regularly and professionally communicate with clients to understand their goals and expectations, proactively addressing client needs and concerns to prevent issues.

• Escalate and investigate complaints or potential project performance risks with the Lead PM, Senior Production Managers, and relevant stakeholders, in accordance with KWS standards.

• Appropriately escalate risks, blockers, and client concerns.

• Actively contribute to initiatives aimed at improving processes and tools at all levels (internal or client-facing, local or international).

• Input financial data, including sales and purchases, into administration tools for tracking, invoicing, cost control, and quoting purposes.

• Manage internal and external costs, monitoring project profit margins and taking action when margins fall below target, in collaboration with the Lead PM, Senior Production Managers, and global teams.

• Oversee project finances, including necessary pre-invoice checks, WIP/Accrual management, and timely assessments of forecasts and quotes.

• Manage cost estimates with vendors, ensuring compliance with internal procedures and best practices.

• Ensure ongoing project sustainability regarding budget, profitability, quality, and client retention.

• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of project data in company reports.

• Ensure adherence to existing documentation and guidelines, continuously checking for updates.

• Provide support to new team members and collaborate with the Lead PM and Senior Production Managers to create a training plan that addresses departmental objectives and project needs.

• Take responsibility for personal learning and training needs, escalating any identified training requirements.

• Participate in tooling, production, and quality standardization initiatives.

• Support continuous improvement across localization, audio, and testing pipelines.


⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in either the video game or localization sectors, whether on the client or vendor side, with a degree in Business, Audio, Translation, Computer Science, or Game Development being advantageous.

• Proven experience managing multilingual environments and/or projects.

• Familiarity with production and/or CAT tools; experience with memoQ is a plus.

• Advanced proficiency in PC and MS Office products is essential.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of a second language is a bonus.

• Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, remote, and complex global environment.

• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.

• Must be motivated, a team player, willing to pursue personal learning and training, and effectively apply business-specific technologies and methodologies.
