LMS/LXP Integration Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop new integrations for LMS/LXP with platforms including Cornerstone OnDemand, Docebo, Oracle Learning, and others.

• Operate within the current Ruby on Rails integration framework for catalog creation and completion tracking.

• Implement partner-specific authentication protocols such as OAuth2, SAML2 assertion-based OAuth, and SFTP.

• Convert partner API documentation into catalog upload implementations and xAPI completion tracking.

• Manage integrations with Workday CCL, SAP SuccessFactors, Skillsoft Percipio, Seertech, and Degreed.

• Troubleshoot issues related to completion tracking, catalog synchronization failures, and authentication edge cases.

• Enhance retry logic, error handling, and observability within integrations.

• Ensure catalog payloads conform to partner API specifications and incorporate necessary metadata.

• Maintain precise xAPI completion tracking for courses, lessons, and learning path events.

• Implement caching strategies to avoid duplicate completion submissions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in integrating enterprise LMS or LXP platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, Oracle Learning, Degreed, or Percipio.

• Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with customers and vendors, using terminology appropriate to their technical expertise.

• Proficient in Ruby with the capability to independently extend an existing Ruby on Rails codebase.

• In-depth knowledge of OAuth2 and REST API patterns, including SAML 2.0 assertion exchange.

• Working familiarity with xAPI (Experience API / Tin Can) learning record statements.

• Comfortable with SFTP-based file transfers and CSV generation.

• Capable of independently interpreting third-party API documentation and implementing solutions accordingly.

• Experience with background job patterns such as GoodJob and retry/backoff strategies.

• Experience with Cornerstone OnDemand or Oracle Learning API is a significant advantage.

• Knowledge of SCORM, xAPI/cmi5, or other content packaging standards is a plus.

• Experience in edtech or enterprise learning platforms is highly desirable.
