This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conducts investigations, evaluations, negotiations, and resolutions for both litigated and non-litigated claims related to bodily injury, property damage, personal and advertising injury, and/or professional liability, particularly those of high exposure and complexity.
• Interprets coverage, which includes drafting detailed coverage position letters, assessing comparative negligence, evaluating damages, and negotiating settlements with minimal supervisory oversight.
• Manages litigation by designating counsel from the approved panel when necessary, creating a litigation plan and budget, coordinating with defense counsel, and consistently assessing potential resolutions.
• Negotiates settlements within the designated authority limit, and participates in mediations, Mandatory Settlement Conferences, and/or Alternative Dispute Resolutions.
• Analyzes court rulings, legal frameworks, and coverage interpretations while possessing a broad understanding of legal and claims practices.
• Engages with supervisors on more complex coverage and litigated issues.
• Cultivates and sustains positive relationships with both internal and external clients, ensuring exceptional customer service.
• Acts as a mentor for claims associates.
• Supports management with additional tasks as necessary.
• Minimum of 2 years of college education and 4 years of experience in claims handling, or 6 years of claims handling experience with a focus on litigation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the insurance sector, including legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently on a personal computer.
• Proven capability to interact with individuals in a professional manner, assess coverage, investigate, and determine liability as required.
• Willingness to travel as necessary for meetings or conferences.
• Must have a solid understanding of Property and Casualty Insurance.
