Litigation Paralegal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with two CSAA attorneys to support the defense of insured clients involved in litigation.

• Manage personal injury defense cases, with approximately 80% of the workload pertaining to auto-related matters.

• Conduct legal file reviews and draft initial legal documents, including discovery responses, trial documents, jury instructions, motions, and other pleadings.

• Accountable for calculating statutory deadlines and ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with them.

• Perform legal research using electronic resources and law libraries on various legal issues related to civil procedure and personal injury.

• Conduct interviews with insured clients for discovery purposes.

• Assist attorneys in preparing evidence and collaborating with retained experts for trial, arbitration, and mediation readiness.

• Summarize plaintiffs' written discovery responses and follow up on subpoenas.

• Ensure compliance with mandatory continuing legal education requirements.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Relevant certification(s) and/or licensure(s) in the functional area.

• Paralegal certification in accordance with CA Business & Professions Code Section 6450-6456, or as required by statute in other applicable states.

• Maintain current Paralegal Continuing Education requirements.

• Proficient PC skills and familiarity with legal software applications, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe.

• Strong writing skills essential for composing legal documents.

• Ability to manage and respond to sensitive and confidential information.

• Excellent analytical, verbal communication, and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.

• Understanding of legal and professional ethics.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function effectively within a litigation team.

• 3-5 years of prior experience as a paralegal.

• Familiarity with Electronic Legal Management systems: iManage and TeamConnect.

• Notary license.

• Actively contribute to shaping our company culture (e.g., engaging in employee resource groups, volunteering, etc.).
