This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the daily management of cases throughout all stages of litigation and arbitration, which includes initial case evaluation, fact gathering, discovery, motion practices, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and appeals.
• Address attorney demand letters, subpoenas, consumer grievances, regulatory queries, and governmental investigations as needed.
• Evaluate legal and business risks while offering practical, solutions-focused advice to internal stakeholders.
• Recognize recurring patterns in disputes and collaborate with the Head of Litigation and business teams to reduce future claims and enhance outcomes.
• Assist in the ongoing development of scalable processes and tools for litigation management.
• Aid in the creation and maintenance of playbooks, templates, workflows, and matter tracking systems to boost consistency and efficiency.
• Contribute to the reporting of litigation exposure, matter status, expenditures, and trends for internal stakeholders.
• Enhance the tracking, escalation, and internal communication of disputes and legal risks.
• Convert litigation updates into clear, actionable guidance for business stakeholders.
• Assist in analyzing dispute trends and resolution data to bolster decision-making and resource distribution.
• Support the integration of technology, automation, and AI-driven tools that enhance litigation operations.
• Monitor the performance of external counsel and ensure that cases are managed effectively and aligned with SunStrong’s goals.
• Help establish expectations regarding strategy, staffing, budgets, reporting, and timelines.
• Review invoices, budgets, and case updates to facilitate effective management of legal expenditures.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one state bar.
• Over 5 years of litigation experience, with substantial responsibility for managing disputes and case strategy.
• Experience managing a diverse range of litigation or arbitration matters, preferably with significant exposure to consumer issues.
• Familiarity with responding to regulatory inquiries.
• Ability to thoughtfully evaluate legal matters and provide practical, business-centric advice.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of handling multiple matters simultaneously.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
