Linux Systems Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, monitor, and manage Debian-based Linux systems in a production environment.

• Design, implement, and sustain AWS cloud infrastructure.

• Execute and uphold infrastructure automation processes.

• Develop and maintain scripts in Bash, Python, or comparable languages to automate various operations.

• Ensure optimal system performance, availability, and security.

• Respond to incidents and efficiently resolve infrastructure challenges.

• Set up and manage monitoring and logging tools.

• Provide support for containerized environments and orchestration tools.

• Collaborate with engineering and development teams on CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.

• Keep documentation and version control updated using Git.

• Adhere to best practices in infrastructure and operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience as a Linux System Administrator or a related role.

• Demonstrated experience managing Debian Linux distributions in production settings.

• Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, IAM, VPC, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch.

• Practical experience with Ansible, Terraform, or AWS CDK.

• Proficient in Bash, Python, or other similar scripting languages.

• Understanding of networking concepts, including firewalls, DNS, and load balancers.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.

• Comfortable using Git and version control systems.

• Knowledge of Docker, ECS, EKS, or Fargate is advantageous.

• Prior experience with GitLab CI, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions is preferred.

• Familiarity with high availability and failover strategies is a plus.

• Exposure to HIPAA or SOC 2 compliance standards is beneficial.

• Full professional proficiency in both communication and documentation.

• Must be available during standard US business hours (9am-5pm EST or 8:30am-4:30pm EST).
