This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Design, develop, integrate, and package essential Linux applications and system components.
• Create and manage software packages using contemporary Linux packaging systems.
• Build and enhance React-based applications that are integrated with native Linux services.
• Develop system daemons, hardware abstraction layers, and services for device management.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to convert healthcare user requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Engage in architectural decisions that improve platform performance and user experience.
• Mentor team members and participate in collaborative code reviews.
• Assist in transitioning from legacy systems to advanced healthcare platforms.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to facilitate the continuous deployment of system components.
• Write thorough, test-supported code adhering to best practices.
• Maintain deployment-ready software within an agile development framework.
• Linux Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Linux systems, including package creation (preferably Arch Linux), system administration, shell scripting, or OS architecture.
• Web Development: Skilled in React, TypeScript/JavaScript, and Python.
• System Integration: Experience with native integration libraries such as Electron and React Native.
• Architecture: Strong grasp of application architecture, MVC patterns, and greenfield development.
• DevOps: Practical experience with GitLab and CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Travis CI, CircleCI).
• Education & Experience: B.Sc in Computer Science, B.Eng in Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Professional background in software development with proven knowledge of Linux systems.
• Experience working remotely in agile development settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on usability and accessibility.
• Bonus Points: Experience in embedded Linux, automotive systems, smart TV platforms, kiosks, or healthcare technology.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Proficiency in the French language.
