This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• This position is fully remote.
• ITTConnect is in search of a Linux Engineer who can work remotely from any location in Brazil for a client based in the US.
• Responsible for the administration, support, and maintenance of Linux-based systems across various customer environments.
• Requires substantial hands-on experience with Linux server administration, virtual machines, and core operating system services that support production application workloads.
• Collaborate effectively as part of an engineering team while also being able to work independently in a dynamic, service-oriented setting.
• This role demands strong troubleshooting abilities, meticulous attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the capacity to handle multiple priorities while ensuring a stable and high-performing Linux infrastructure.
• Over 10 years of experience in IT.
• MUST be fluent in English.
• Proven experience as a Linux system administrator in an MSP, enterprise IT, or similar production environment.
• Strong practical experience in installing, configuring, and managing Linux servers and virtual machines.
• Proficient in administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Ubuntu systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot performance issues related to the Linux operating system and network supporting application servers.
• Solid understanding of Linux system services, processes, permissions, and package management.
• Experience in diagnosing and resolving issues concerning CPU, memory, disk, and network utilization.
• Scripting skills using Bash and/or other scripting languages for automation and operational tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to evaluate issues and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-centric approach.
• Preferred experience in supporting Linux systems operating on virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, and cloud-based platforms (AWS, Google Compute, Azure).
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools used in Linux environments.
• Experience in producing and maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Exposure to configuration management or automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience supporting Linux-based application stacks in production environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
