This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.
β’ Contribute your knowledge and expertise to the development of childhood language in Norwegian.
β’ Assist in creating a lexical database that organizes words according to their part of speech and morphological form.
β’ Aid in the evaluation and selection of existing lexical data sources.
β’ Review lexical data for inaccuracies and implement necessary corrections.
β’ Work in collaboration with software developers and AAC content specialists to define features and expected behaviors tailored for Norwegian.
β’ Evaluate the software product and AAC implementations to ensure that they support the vocabulary, grammar, and syntax necessary for children's communication needs in Norwegian.
β’ Participate in two weekly meetings lasting between 30 to 60 minutes.
β’ Engage in independent, self-directed work throughout the duration of the project.
β’ Must be a native speaker of Norwegian.
β’ Proficient in English.
β’ Educational background in linguistics and expertise in childhood language development.
β’ Strong comprehension of Norwegian grammatical structures and morphology.
β’ Capable of discussing intricate linguistic concepts with developers who speak English.
β’ Extensive knowledge of research related to language development and vocabulary acquisition for typically developing children in Norwegian.
β’ Conceptual understanding of AAC principles and how vocabulary, grammar, and language development are represented within AAC systems.
β’ Familiarity with AAC vocabulary organization, content design, or communication support tools for children is preferred.
β’ Experience in reviewing lexical resources, language data, or language-focused software products is preferred.
β’ Availability for up to 20 hours per week over a span of approximately 9 months.
β’ Ability to operate as an independent contractor and manage personal tax obligations.
