Linguistic and Childhood Language Development Specialist – AAC, French

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Provide expertise in linguistics and childhood language development for French AAC content.

• Assist in the creation of a lexical database that categorizes words based on their part of speech and morphological structure.

• Aid in the assessment and selection of current lexical data sources.

• Examine lexical data and rectify any inaccuracies.

• Work in tandem with software developers and AAC content specialists to specify French-targeted software features and anticipated behaviors.

• Evaluate software products and AAC implementations to guarantee that French vocabulary, grammar, and syntax meet the communication requirements of children.

• Participate in two weekly collaborative meetings lasting between 30 to 60 minutes.

• Complete other project tasks autonomously and with self-direction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native French speaker.

• Proficient in English.

• Educational background in linguistics and childhood language development.

• Strong grasp of French grammatical structures and morphology.

• Capability to articulate intricate linguistic concepts to English-speaking developers.

• Extensive knowledge of research pertaining to language development and vocabulary acquisition in French for typically developing children.

• Conceptual familiarity with AAC principles and the representation of vocabulary, grammar, and language development within AAC systems.

• Preference for experience in AAC vocabulary organization, content design, or communication support tools for children.

• Preferred experience in reviewing lexical resources, language data, or language-focused software products.

• Availability for up to 20 hours weekly, depending on the project's phase.

• Ability to function as an independent contractor and handle personal tax obligations.
