Linguist – Brazilian Portuguese into American English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Convert content between Brazilian Portuguese and US English while maintaining cultural nuances and clarity.

• Edit and enhance language content for precision, tone, and contextual appropriateness across digital platforms.

• Implement contemporary language standards, usage trends, and best practices in all deliverables.

• Assess and deliver structured feedback to elevate language model quality.

• Work alongside Production and cross-functional teams to adapt content for your language-speaking markets.

• Assist in content development, localization, and quality assurance for digital tools and applications.

• When transcreation is necessary, creatively modify the text beyond the original to ensure it flows naturally in the target language.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native-level fluency in the target language(s).

• A graduate degree in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR

• A graduate degree in a different field coupled with 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR

• 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.

• The ability to adhere to terminology and reference materials accurately.
