Lingala VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Democratic Republic of the Congo.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be prepared to take notes during a call.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which you are interpreting, particularly in healthcare and medical fields.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or substituting any content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretation of messages.

• Implement established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for acquiring new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and reporting with your team leader.

• Adhere to dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English as the source language and a native speaker of Lingala as the target language.

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is an asset.

• Possession of international certifications in the healthcare sector is a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• A high school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
