Lingala VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Angola.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls with professionalism, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the industry you are interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medical fields. Training will be provided for this.

• Accurately convey all messages in their entirety, without adding, omitting, or altering any content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service during interpretation sessions.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretations of messages.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training programs.

• Demonstrate a commitment to obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Follow the dress code guidelines for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Lingala."

• A minimum of 1 year of telephone interpretation experience in a recognized interpretation company is advantageous, though not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial, but not required.

• Knowledge of legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are favorable (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
