Lingala VRI/OPI Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Angola.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle incoming calls, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry in which the interpreter operates, particularly healthcare and medical fields; training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages, refraining from adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpretation process.

• Enable effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and complete interpretations of messages.

• Implement standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show a strong willingness to acquire new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and provide updates to your team leader.

• Adhere to the dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in English as the source language and a native speaker of "Lingala" as the target language.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation with a reputable interpretation company is advantageous but not mandatory.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous but not essential.

• Understanding of legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications within the healthcare sector are beneficial (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Exhibit strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.

• Technical requirements include a dedicated high-speed, private, and secure internet connection with a minimum download speed of 10 Mbps and upload speed of 3 Mbps; Wired Internet, Ethernet Port; at least Windows 10 operating system; a minimum dual-core processor (2 GHz), such as Intel Core i5 or better; a minimum of 8 GB RAM; and the environment must be set to “High Performance” mode, rather than “balanced” or “power saver.”
